Flowmeter Structure:
The LUXZ flowmeter consists of seven essential components, each designed to ensure accuracy and durability in harsh industrial environments:

 

1. Vortex Generator
Made from high-strength aluminum alloy, the helical blade of the vortex generator creates a strong vortex current as the fluid passes through, improving measurement accuracy.

2. Housing
The housing, which contains the gaschannel, is equipped with flanges and can be made from either cast aluminum alloy or stainless steel, depending on the required working pressure and media composition.

3. Intelligent Flowmeter Integrator
This integrates the temperature, pressure, and flowrate measurement channels, with a microprocessing unit and liquid crystal display. The unit features an output signal interface for seamless communication with external systems, it supports the analog output, pulse output, and Modbus/HART communications.

4. Pressure Sensor
Featuring a diffusion silicon piezoresistive sensor, the pressure sensor measures changes in resistance as a result of external pressure, offering precise pressure readings.The pressure reading will be inputted into the software and used for temperature and pressure compensation calculation.

5. Temperature Sensor
The LUXZ Series flowmeter uses a Pt100 platinum resistor, known for its reliability in measuring temperature across a wide range. The temperature reading will be inputted into the software and used for temperature and pressure compensation calculation.

6. Piezoelectric Crystal Sensor
Located near the throat of the housing, this sensor detects precession vortex frequency, which is key to determining flow rate.

7. Vortex Reducer
Positioned at the outlet, the vortex reducer eliminates residual vortex currents, minimizing any performance impacts on the downstream instruments.

Working Principle:
The LUXZ precession vortex flowmeter operates similarly to the Venturi tube but with a specially designed vortex generator. As the liquid enters the sensor, the vortex generator induces strong vortex currents, which then rotate in a gyro-type procession within the diffuser section. This rotation frequency correlates directly with the flow rate.

The precession vortex signal is converted into a pulse signal, which is amplified, filtered, and sent to a microprocessor for integration with temperature and pressure data. This provides highly accurate readings for instantaneous flow rate, accumulated flow, temperature, and pressure, all displayed on the integrated LCD screen.

 

Flowrate Integrator:

The flowrate integrator combines temperature and pressure measurement channels with the flowrate sensor. Using advanced algorithms, the microprocessor compensates for temperature and pressure variations based on the gas equation of state. The result is an accurate flow measurement, even in fluctuating conditions.

The gas equation of state, which includes factors like local atmospheric pressure, measured pressure, and temperature, ensures precise calculations for gas flow under both standard and working conditions. The equation also accounts for compressibility factors, providing reliable readings even with gases that exhibit non-ideal behavior.
