Precession Vortex Flowmeter
The circulating section of the precession vortex flowmeter is designed similarly to the internal contour of a Venturi tube. A spiral guide vane is installed at the inlet to induce a strong vortex motion as the gas enters the sensor. As the gas flows through the diffusing section, the vortex undergoes two rotational movements due to reverse flow effects, forming a gyroscopic vortex motion. The precession frequency of this vortex is directly proportional to the flow rate, with some influence from the gas’s physical properties, such as density and compressibility. By measuring the secondary precession frequency, the sensor achieves excellent linearity over a relatively wide measurement range, ensuring accurate flow detection.
